Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19 1965. She is an American actress and producer. Her starring role in TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most famous. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. The series ended on August 13th, 2012 following the completion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also remembered for her recurring character as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick as a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish heritage and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
